Phishing emails. These are clever email messages designed to trick you into revealing personal information, such as passwords or credit card numbers. They often appear to come from legitimate sources like banks or popular websites some even look like the come from your fellow coworkers but are, in fact, from scammers.
How to Spot Phishing Emails:
- Verify the Sender: Always check the sender's email address carefully. Scammers often use addresses that look similar to those of legitimate organizations.
- Look for Red Flags: Be cautious of emails that request personal information, convey a sense of urgency, or contain spelling and grammatical errors.
- Avoid Suspicious Links and Attachments: Do not click on links or download attachments unless you are certain the email is genuine.
What to Do:
- Ignore & Delete: If an email seems suspicious, do not engage with it. Delete it immediately.
- Report Suspicious Emails: Notify our IT team if you receive any dubious emails so we can take appropriate action.
